Specific pre-heat temperature and a good ground connection are essential conditions for starting and maintaining arcs at low amperage. The Nova Tech Insulated Work Platform is a unique tool for these purposes. It is designed to thermally insulate while providing superior electrical conductivity. Preheat temperatures are maintained when the work piece is insulated from the table by placing it on the Work Platform. A thermal barrier insulating board is sandwiched between two copper plates, which keeps heat where it belongs - in the work piece. A complete circuit is created when the grounding lug provided is fastened both to the work platform and to the power supply. This superior grounding method provides an environment for a more stable arc and more reliable arc starting at low amperage.
